Register for the road race here:

Five-year-old Charlotte Rose Kelly was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma in June, 2009.  Despite extensive treatments including chemotherapy, radiation, and stem-cell transplants, Charlotte’s disease relapsed.  She lost her battle with this devastating disease on December 7, 2011.  There is no known cure for relapsed neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is an aggressive form of cancer associated with the nerve cells and adrenal glands.  It commonly occurs in infants and very young children.  Its cause is unknown.  Only 650 new cases are reported in the United States annually.  Neuroblastoma therefore is regarded as an orphan disease, one that does not attract funding.  As such, it is left largely to the families of neuroblastoma patients to raise the necessary funds to further research to find a cure.

Prayers for Charlotte, is a 100% volunteer organization that works to raise funds for neuroblastoma research and relief for families fighting cancer.  There are no salaried employees and all proceeds from our events will support this dual effort.

Charlotte Rose Kelly ~ Forever In Our Hearts

A sincere thank you to all of the incredible people who made this happen:

We are happy to announce that Prayers for Charlotte is a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This charitable status will allow us to more fully honor Charlotte and all of the children lost to this disease. It will allow us to more fully offer hope for the children and families still fighting neuroblastoma by funding research. It will allow us to more fully financially assist families fighting cancer. Of course, each achievement is bittersweet as it is absent Charlotte, and all the other children who lost the battle and are always missed.

“Supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, honoring the taken and never, ever giving up hope”.
